Research: The impact of financial literacy training among market vendors in the Rwenzori Region

 

The GIZ AGRUFIN Programme, Mountains of the Moon University and DIW Berlin are currently conducting a joint Randomized Control Trial (RCT). The project aims at examining the impact of financial literacy training.

 

The study is expected to cover 1.200 market vendors in 83 markets in all the seven districts of the Rwenzori Region (Kabarole, Kyenjojo, Kyegegwa, Kamwenge, Bundibugyo, Ntoroko, Kasese). Treatments in form of the training and the baseline were conducted mid/end of 2015 and the first follow up is being done from April to May 2016.

 

Overall Objective: To establish the impact of different delivery methods of financial literacy trainings on financial knowledge and behavior of small scale entrepreneurs.
